Pancake puppies are small balls of fried pancake dough. It looks like the puppies are tinted red, they have blueberries inside, and you can drizzle white chocolate on top for an American flag look. Arby’s Roast Beef Restaurants

Arby’s is known for their freshly sliced roast beef sandwiches made with wholesome ingredients.

If you live near an Arby’s restaurant, check out this ONE-DAY ONLY special…

On Monday, July 5 2010 between the hours of 10 am and 10 pm, at  participating Arby’s restaurants, you can get a free sandwich with the purchase of  a drink, excluding coffee and value drinks.

Your free sandwich is not even officially available on the menu yet. It will become a new item on Arby’s value ($1) menu sometime next week. Called the Junior Deluxe Sandwich, this new menu item is made of roast beef, lettuce and tomato on a toasted sesame seed bun.

Arby’s is a great alternative to the hamburger! My kids loved Arby’s roast beef sandwiches. Luckily they had a location close to our house. Now I live where the closest Arby’s is an airplane ride away!

How to make a flag cake for Independence Day. A flag cake makes such a beautiful and patriotic treat for your July 4th celebration!

This yummy cake can be healthy too. Instead of sugary frosting, use real whipping cream along with fresh blueberries and raspberries or strawberries to add another serving of fruit to your day.

It is really not difficult at all once you know the steps.

One year for the 4th of July I made a flag cake by just following a picture. I didn’t realize that you had to pipe stars of whipping cream in the for white rows of the flag. I thought that the whipped cream that I had frosted the cake with would show through. It looked off and unbalanced without the extra “white rows” and now I know the secret to the perfect flag cake.

Aren’t these cupcakes cute? Grab some helpers and make some for your 4th of July celebration!

You can use your favorite white cake recipe or save time with a cake mix from the store.

Then, just pipe on your red and white frosting and then top with a blue fondant star.

I’m always looking for the shortcut and to use what I already have on hand. I didn’t have any blue fondant available, so I:

• used a store bought vanilla cake mix and followed the instructions for making cupcakes
• used a first can of white frosting to frost each of the cupcakes after they had cooled off
• used a second can of white frosting to split up and make red and blue frosting, by moving half of the second can into your empty first can and adding some red food color to one and blue food color to the other
• put the red frosting into a small “ziplock” bag and cut off one end to make a piping bag and draw red lines on each cupcake
• put the blue frosting into another small “ziplock” bag and cut off one end to make another piping bag and this time draw an outline of a star on each cupcake and then fill the outline in just a bit
